Samantha Mathews, MA, LPC, NCC

Sam received her MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from The University of the Cumberlands and her B.A. from The University of Mary Washington. She has worked in group private practice since 2020 after coming from outpatient community mental health providing comprehensive trauma treatment, as well as a domestic violence agency providing individual, group, and crisis counseling for survivors of family and intimate partner violence.  Sam also has previous experience in outpatient addiction treatment. Sam is EMDR trained, a certified clinical trauma professional, and integrates multiple modalities into her work including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. Sam also provides clinical supervision, consultation, and training.

Sam and her husband have two kids, a dog, a cat and at about 100 laundry piles. Sam loves reading novels and biographies, listening to podcasts, the vast world of wine, a good theme party, Taylor Swift (especially Folklore & Evermore), local restaurants, and galivanting around Philly with her family.

In addition to private practice counseling, Sam is the Founder and CEO of Andrée Collective, a nonprofit that leverages the wedding & events industry to provide employment and therapy to domestic violence & human trafficking survivors. Learn more at www.andreecollective.org.

Maryrose Yerger, MS, LAPC

Maryrose Yerger is a Philly based Professional Counseling Associate. In addition to her work with SMCC, she also serves young adults as a recovery-oriented counselor in community mental health. Maryrose has had a passion for families and couples. Since her time at Penn State where she worked to cofound REACH (Research Engagement and Community Healing), an initiative to combat sexual violence on college campuses, she has also grown her passion for working with survivors of trauma. She received her MS in Couples and Family Therapy from the University of Oregon. In her work, she draws on her background in Yoga and meditation instruction, transpersonal psychology, expressive arts, and nature-based therapy. She is trained in both Gestalt and Internal Family Systems therapy.  Maryrose loves collaborating with other women. She believes wholeheartedly in the power of transforming together through shared creative potential and empowerment.

In her free time you can find Maryrose singing, dancing, painting, strumming her guitar, and hiking the Wissahickon.

Andrée Collective

Maryrose Yerger runs low-barrier in-person and online group therapy through Andrée Collective. Therapy is offered for adult female survivors of trauma on a pay-what-you-can bases.
